Who Dares to Enter “The Pitch Tank?”

You know you’ve got a hit show when local markets host events based on your theme. On Friday night there was Equestrian Idol in Palm Beach, and earlier in the month, “The Pitch Tank Awards” debuted at Trump Hollywood.

“The Pitch Tank Awards” patterned itself after the ABC hit show Shark Tank. NFL Hall of Famer and former Miami Dolphin Dwight Stephenson hosted the competition as part of the 2010 Professional Athlete Business Summit. Twelve entrepreneur contestants were given the opportunity to pitch business ideas to a panel of judges including Kevin Harrington, Catherine Eagen, and Regent Ducas. The winner: Dr. Steven Schnur of Elite Health, a concierge and executive medical program that seamlessly blends the foundation of traditional medicine with the latest innovations in health care. Schnur’s prize is a two-minute infomercial with Harrington to promote Elite Health. Schnur beat out John Offerdahl, a five-time Pro Bowler and career Miami Dolphin in the “Pitch Tank.”
