TRX: One Haute Workout

I do not know about you, but the thought of lifting weights makes me cringe. They are heavy, greasy, and bore me to death. When I look at them, I forget what I am actually supposed to do with them, even though I’ve done the same workouts for years.

Pain is good and feeling the burn is even better when the workout keeps you entertained. I’ve been a fan of working out with my own body weight as long as I can remember. It started in childhood when I began my figure skating career, and since then has continued to grow because of my disdain for weightlifting. I have searched high and low for something that could deliver muscle development without boredom, and alas, I have finally found a tool that does the trick. Discovering that even Super Bowl MVP Drew Brees uses my newfound resistance exercise sealed the deal. Not only did he win my heart when I saw him with his wife and son after he declared his next stop would be Disney World, but now he is advocating the TRX workout and I am sold. Other athletes that have fallen in love are Carmelo Anthony of the Denver Nuggets and Heather Mitts, pro soccer player and Olympic gold medalist. Celebrity trainer Gunnar Peterson and Biggest Loser trainer Bob Harper have also promoted the glorious benefits of TRX.So Brees is definitely not alone.

This total body workout can go with you anywhere. The heavy-duty straps are anchored for suspension and employ the leverage of your own body weight for conditioning. I have never participated in training like this before and couldn’t agree more with the Men’s Health award for “Best Total Body Tool.”

The idea was born in the U.S. Navy Seals and developed by Fitness Anywhere. With more than 65 minutes of endless exercises, TRX helps to build power, strength, flexibility, balance, and can even assist in the prevention of injuries. What I loved is that it helped give me the long lean look that I desire, but the man next to me was building the bulk he desired. For more information on TRX check out Fitness Anywhere, and look for it at your next visit to a Canyon Ranch Resort.
