Playboy Bunnies Invade South Beach for Super Bowl

The Playboy Mansion is one of the most jumpin’ haute spots on the West Coast, but Heff was nice enough to lend some of his bounciest Bunnies to East Coast revelers for an exclusive party during Super Bowl weekend in Miami. Known as the “Super Saturday Night Party,” this gathering was one of the hottest (note: not hautest; that was the Haute Living-sponsored Saturday Night Spectacular with Jim Carrey and Jennie McCarthy) events that took place on Saturday night. Guest dropped $1,000 for the opportunity to mingle with the smokin’ Bunnies in attendance, which included 10 of the most recent Playmates. The stunning beauties’ flock of followers—which included Laurence Fishburne, Jessie Palmer (The Bachelor), singer Asher Roth, Heidi Montag (The Hills) NBA Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas, and a bevy of NFL stars—gathered at South Beach’s Sagamore Hotel, which the Miami Herald reported in December might be rebranded as a Playboy property, complete with Playboy suites and club where the waitresses wear the infamous bunny tails.

While this deal is not set in stone, Saturday night, partygoers got a glimpse of what such a partnership could offer. Mermaids took to the pool and go-go dancers shimmied in elevated boxes while guests sipped Bacardi cocktails. The venue served as the official after party for the Black Eyed Peas concert, which started a wee bit late at the American Airlines Arena (The Herald’s “Scene in the Tropics” reported that the group was pea-napped by the Turchins, resulting in quite the tardy start to their show). Nevertheless, the chart-toppers arrived just before 2 a.m., and Fergie hit the stage around 2:30 a.m., belting out her hits while will.i.am and apl played djs. Even after the pop princess relinquished the stage, apl stayed at the turntables, entertaining the crowd until the party closed at 4 a.m.  The soiree marked the official beginning of a yearlong celebration of the 50^th anniversary of the Playboy Club.
