News | February 2, 2010

Starting February 19, you’ll be able to snag tickets to the 10-day Ibero-American focused Miami International Film Festival featuring a lineup of 115 big screen creations from Spain, Portugal, and Latin America.

MIFF will open March 5 with Ken Loach’s Looking for Eric, a British football movie starring Manchester United’s Eric Cantona. The festival will also honor German film director Margarethe Von Trotta with its Career Achievement award for her work as a ceiling-shattering cinema feminist. Miami’s Andy Garcia is scheduled to make an appearance with his daughter in City Island, a family drama that won an audience award at last year’s Tribeca Film Festival.

There will also be documentaries about the Beatles (The Beatles on Record) and Heff (Hugh Hefner: Playboy, Activist and Rebel) along will indies and shorts, like Hipster Job by Thomas de Napoli.
