The Scarf As A Novel

News | December 11, 2009

Who doesn’t love Hermès scarves? As a fashion staple, its carrés, otherwise known as scarves, have now been captured into a book. Titled, “Le Carrés,” and published by Les Editions du Regard, Hermès has described the book as “the scarf as a novel, the scarf as a world of shapes, and the scarf as a philosophy of color.”

Apparently, each one of Hermès’ scarves tell a story, and this book is their anthology. But instead of picturing them, it moves the scarves, but zooming in and out of them while still preserving their graceful appearance. The book It narrates, through images and text, the existence of the now mythical silk twill “carré”.
