Haute 100 NY Update: Bloomberg Goes Off-Script At Hot Dog Eating Contest Kickoff

On Tuesday Mayor Michael Bloomberg was very frank in his dismissal of a prepared speech containing four too many wiener puns at a press conference launching Nathan’s annual Fourth of July hot dog eating contest. “Who wrote this s–t?” Bloomberg said after regaling reporters, and a man dressed in full hot dog mascot gear, with lines like “No question it’s going to be a dogfight” and “dogged pursuers will finally ‘catch up,’ cut the mustard and be pronounced ‘wiener.’”
