Haute 100 LA Update: James Cameron Brings $400 Million Avatar Land to Disney
Avatar, the highest grossing film of all time, is about to bring in even more money.
James Cameron‘s Oscar-winning sci-fi film is headed to Disney’s Animal Kingdom as the latest new theme park attraction.
The 59-year-old director joined Disney’s Tom Staggs and Joe Rohde to reveal some initial renderings of ‘Avatar Land’ at Disney’s biennial D23 Expo in Japan.
The project will cost $400 million; it will be the largest expansion ever in the Animal Kingdom.
Construction is expected to begin in 2014; the park will be completed by 2017.
