Love to end your day with a relaxing glass of wine? Curious as to how your wine of choice ranks in a list of top wines? Read on to find out how Wine.com has rated some of the finest wines of the year.
Wine.com has released its third annual list of the top 100 wines based entirely on customer preferences. While perhaps you’re not surprised to hear that “value is clearly the running theme of this year,” you may be more surprised to learn that “75 of this year’s 100 wines cost less than $20, and only two exceed $100 despite the fact that the list’s average price rose compared to 2008.”
An incredible 82 of the 100 wines are rated higher than 90 points, and the highest ranking wine of 2009 is Cambria Julia’s Vineyard 2006 Pinot Noir, with two 90-plus point ratings. This Pinot Noir was also the #1 wine of 2009 for Wine Enthusiast’s list, and it is one of the 75 wines that cost less than $20.
Below you will find the list of the top 25 wines of 2009. Is your favorite on the list?
