The Cosmopolitan Of Las Vegas To Debut Fine Fast Food Collection In Time For Labor Day
Labor Day Weekend brings a new kid on the culinary block at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. Six new kids, really, when Block 16 Urban Food Hall opens on August 31. The curated sextet of fast-casual eateries will serve chef-made cuisine from some of the country’s finest food destinations including New Orleans, New York City, Oregon and Nashville.

The six Block 16 restaurants include popular New Orleans hotspot District: Donuts. Sliders. Brew.; New York City tequila and mezcal bar Ghost Donkey; the first west coast location for Nashville’s Hattie B’s Hot Chicken; the fully-loaded sandwiches of Portland Chef Rick Gencarelli’s Lardo; James Beard Award-winning Chef Andy Ricker’s Pok Pok Wing of Portland; and a Las Vegas original, Tekka Bar: Handroll & Sake.
“The Cosmopolitan has a thoughtful collection of high-end, luxury dining options, something the resort has been synonymous with since its inception,” said Patrick Nichols, The Cosmopolitan’s Senior Vice President of Strategy and Business Development. “Furthering our commitment to our guests, we now see the need for more quick-serve, made-to-order concepts to add to our Restaurant Collection. We have searched the country over the past two years for the most crave-able food and beverage concepts and are excited to bring together six of our favorites to Block 16. The teams behind each of these restaurants are extraordinary, and we are thrilled to introduce them to Las Vegas.”

Fast-casual dining spots from acclaimed chefs are becoming increasingly popular in Las Vegas. At the start of the year, world-renowned chef Giada de Laurentiis opened Pronto by Giada at Caesars Palace. Lifestyle brand Canyon Ranch opened its first stand-alone, quick-and-casual concept CR CREĀT, helmed by Canyon Ranch’s Executive Chef Pete Ghione, inside The Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian and The Palazzo Las Vegas in May.
The Cosmopolitan is the first resort to coordinate a full lineup of quick-serve, made-to-order restaurants on the Las Vegas Strip. Think of it like an upscale food court or, better yet, an indoor street food market. Graffiti wall art collages and an industrial design create a “metropolitan alleyway” feel. Seating varies from booths to high-tops to chef-facing countertops.
When the first-to-market urban food hall opens, hours will be as follows:

The Block 16 Urban Food Hall is located on the second level of the Boulevard Tower at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. The six new eateries join the resort’s world-class restaurant collection, including David Chang’s first West Coast outpost of Momofuku, Eggslut by Chef Alvin Cailan, Christina Tosi’s Milk Bar, Estiatorio Milos by Costas Spiliadis, Blue-Ribbon Las Vegas from brothers Bruce and Eric Bromberg and Japanese restaurant Zuma from German-born chef Rainer Becker.
