“Moët & Chandon has supported me as a sponsor for the past 6 years. It has been a great relationship and their support has been very meaningful to me and my family.”
The limited edition release bottles are designed and wrapped in a vintage leather racket grip. When the leather is unraveled, a label hand-signed and numbered by Roger, who Moët & Chandon proudly calls “the greatest tennis player ever” is revealed.
“I love the strong, elegant design,” says Federer. “Plus, the Grand Vintage Collection 1998 wine in the bottle is an amazing champagne. But beyond the personal pride I get from this event and the beautiful bottle, I am thrilled that Moët & Chandon has generously committed to donating all profits from the sale of the limited edition bottles to the Roger Federer Foundation. This donation is important because it stands for the generosity of the House, and helps us meet the goal of bringing education to 1 million underprivileged children in Southern Africa and Switzerland.”
The celebration of Federer’s tennis career seems a natural fit for Moët & Chandon who became a brand ambassador for the luxury brand in 2012.
“It’s more than just an honor to be Moët & Chandon’s brand ambassador, it’s an invitation to be part of a very glamorous tradition. Moët & Chandon has always been the champagne of international trendsetters and I’m proud to be part of a brand that is as dedicated to the pursuit of excellence as I have been throughout my career.”
He regularly enjoys champagne, too, citing wine as his “weapon of choice” when it comes to entertaining. “Some of my favorites are Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage Collection 1998, Grand Vintage 2004, and Grand Vintage 2006. For me, these vintages represent key moments of achievement in my career. I’m thrilled that Moët & Chandon crafted these great wines that I can serve to accompany my dinners! Also, it’s fun to impress my friends by having them discover Moët Ice Impérial, which is served over ice.”

Hot stamped in gold on the inside of every bottle’s tie, is Roger’s personal message: “Dreams do come true,” which were the words he used to celebrate becoming the world’s #1 tennis player.
There are only 20 1.5L bottles of the celebration Moët Grand Vintage Collection 1998 available worldwide at $24,000 each. The collection will be made-to-order through Moët Hennessy‘s boutique on July 1 (via email at via email at rogerfederer20@moet.com) with all profits benefiting the Roger Federer Foundation, which supports educations projects in the region of southern Africa and Switzerland.
So, when did Roger become such a fan of champagne? “It was probably on my 18th birthday celebration. Otherwise, I remember drinking champagne to help me relax when I was younger to talk to girls!”
