For the eleventh year, Women In Film LA (WIF) kicked off Oscars weekend with its highly-anticipated cocktail party, hosted by last year’s Best Actress winner, Emma Stone, and award-winning producer and WIF LA president, Cathy Schulman. It was the perfect setting for Johnnie Walker to celebrate the release of Jane Walker, the first-ever female iteration of the brand’s iconic Striding Man logo. Jane Walker is a celebration of the many achievements of women on the journey towards gender equality. Throughout the evening, celebs toasted to a historic year for women in front of and behind the camera with specialty Johnnie Walker Black Label The Jane Walker Edition cocktails including “Spring in her Step” and “Walk With Jane.” Attendees at the event, which was hosted at the newly reopened Crustacean Beverly Hills, included Viola Davis, Billie Jean King, Margot Robbie, Kat Graham, Ambyr Childers, Lea Michele, Ali Larter, Julianne Hough, Eiza González, Mary J. Blige, Jamie Dornan, Madelaine Petsch, Rachel Morrison, Andie MacDowell, Keegan-Michael Key, Michelle Monaghan, Olivia Wilde, Jason Sudeikis, Greta Gerwig, Kumail Nanjiani, Dianne Warren, Kathryn Hahn and Elizabeth Banks.
PIAGET CELEBRATES THE INDEPENDENT SPIRIT AWARDS

Piaget kicked off the awards weekend with a festive cocktail party at the Chateau Marmont penthouse to celebrate its eleventh year supporting independent film and the arts, in partnership with The Art of Elysium. Michael B. Jordan, Piaget’s US brand ambassador and star of the blockbuster hit, “Black Panther,” flew inespecially for the affair wearing his Piaget Altiplano gem-set timepiece in 18-carat white goldfeaturing a total of 577 baguette and brilliant-cut diamonds.Also in attendance was friend of the brand, Elizabeth Olsen, who looked effortlessly chic in a Piaget Possession pendant and bangle in 18-carat white gold set with diamonds. Other attendees included Gabrielle Union, Ali Larter and model Karolina Kurkova. For the evening, the Maison brought to life Piaget’s colorful Sunny Side of Life philosophy with a curated art selection on display provided by The Art of Elysium. Piaget also showcased pieces from the Extremely Piaget collection, featuring radiant gold jewelry, as well as one-of-a-kind jewelry from the Sunlight Journey and Sunny Side of Life collections. Despite the recent rain, guests were able to enjoy the breathtaking views of Los Angeles, while DJ Daisy O’Dell provided an upbeat soundtrack for the evening.
JANELLE MONAE AND FRIENDS FETE FEM THE FUTURE

Janelle Monae and Belvedere Vodka hosted an intimate brunch kicking off Oscars weekend at Catch, LA. The event, in support of Janelle’s organization, Fem the Future (and coinciding with the release of her new single), earmarked the launch of Belvedere’s new series of inspiring projects aimed at propelling next-generation voices across film, music and the arts. During such a topical moment for women today, Janelle and a panel of luminaries including Alicia Quarles, Danai Gurira, Stacy Smith and Lacey Duke led an engaging discussion about creating a more beautiful future for everyone. Celebrity guests including Rosario Dawson, Grimes, Lupita Nyong’a, Matt McGorry, Serayah McNeill, Geena Davis, Ava Duvernay, Emily Arlook and more participated in spirited and uplifting conversations about their hopes for the future while listening to beats by Kitty Cash and sipping on signature Belvedere Vodka cocktails.
A TOAST TO THE ARTS: A CELEBRATION OF FEARLESS ART

Recording artist and Oscar-winner Common hosted the fourth annual “Toast To The Arts: A Celebration of Fearless Art” event, March 2, honoring the Academy Award nominations of Get Out nominee Daniel Kaluuya (Best Actor); Mudbound nominees Mary J. Blige (Best Supporting Actress, Best Original Song), director Dee Rees (Best Writing Adapted Screenplay) and producer Charles D. King; as well as legendary filmmaker Charles Burnett. The star-studded soirée hosted some of Hollywood’s biggest names, including Tiffany Haddish, Gabrielle Union, Andra Day, Ray Lewis, Dahntay Jones, Amanda Seales, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Lil Rel Howery, #MeToo founder Tarana Burke and more. At the event, held at West Hollywood hotspot Ysabel, guests raised glasses of Remy Martin, Heineken and Red Bull-infused cocktails and enjoyed dinner under the stars. Master of ceremonies, Common, recognized a handful of Oscar-nominated ‘rebels’ who blazed trails for groundbreaking achievements in film, including a special toast to Mudbound director Dee Rees, who became the first black woman to be nominated in the adapted screenplay category category.
BOVET 1822 & ARTISTS FOR PEACE AND JUSTICE CELEBRATE SONGS FROM THE CINEMA
On Saturday evening, BOVET 1822 and Artists for Peace and Justice (APJ) held their second annual Songs from the Cinema benefit concert. The intimate, joyful and star-studded soirée brought together a group of extraordinary artists to celebrate Oscar week while raising much-needed funds to support the tireless efforts of APJ to bring education and training in creative industries to the youth of Haiti, while encouraging peace and social justice and addressing issues of poverty around the world. The evening was hosted by Artists for Peace and Justice Board of Directors Susan Sarandon and Olivia Wilde, along with Garcelle Beauvais, Jimmy Jean Louis, Josie Maran and David Belle. Longtime APJ member Jackson Browne created and curated the intimate concert, gathering a group of leading artists, each of whom performed an iconic song from the history of cinema during the show. Performers included Adam Sandler; Rufus Wainwright; T-Bone Jackson; Simone Baker; Paul Beaubrun; Z Berg and Blake Mills; Carlitos del Puerto and Benjamin Shepherd; Sharlotte Gibson, Alethea Mills and Chavonne Stewart; Petra Haden and Bill Frisell; Khamal Iwuanyanwu; Molly Lewis; Leslie Mendelson; Deborah Rennard; and Beau Shit, who were backed by the Hot Club of Los Angeles, acting as house band for the evening. MPTF’s 16th ANNUAL ‘NIGHT BEFORE’ PARTY

A star-studded host committee, Academy Awards nominees and presenters, along with some of the most powerful industry influencers came together on March 3rd, 2018 for the 16th annual ‘Night Before’ party to benefit MPTF at Fox Studios. Funds raised during the legendary evening will be used to support MPTF in providing social services and financial assistance to the entertainment community, as well as it’s renowned retirement community and innovative programs for seniors and those who care for them. The organization impacts thousands of people each year who have committed their lives to a career in entertainment. The annual event raised $5 million last night, totaling just over $80 million in the event’s history.
