Todd Snyder’s New Pop-Up Shop Is For Real New Yorkers
New York is a constantly evolving place. While there will always be the tourists in puffy coats, and the hypebeasts in Supreme, that’s not what a real New Yorker needs day to day. Luckily, fashion designer and Ambassador to Real New York, Todd Snyder, has launched his pop up shop of City Gym 2.0—Snyder’s line to gym-to-drinks ready-wear that looks great on men of all sizes while still being functional for a wide range of items on the to-do list.
The new version of the 2013 pop up, hence the “2.0”, works heavily with collaborations between Snyder’s unique brand of masculine essentials, and the quality in production from iconic brands like Champion, New Balance, and PF Flyers. The shop has a vintage locker room aura with retro industrial furniture, but also futuristic elements like digital mood boards and art by Edward Granger.
The store also features several shops-within-the-shop, with sections for Aesop products, active essentials from mack Weldon, and espresso and juice available from a bar, bikes from Tokyobike, and a ping pong table. The store reflects Snyder’s trend in retail stores that offer a range of opportunities that make shops feel more like a clubhouse for men to come and hang out in. For instance, his Madison Park flagship offers a Moscot eyeglasses counter, tailor, and café, all in-house.
City Gym 2.0 by Todd Snyder is located at 5th Avenue and 16th Street, New York City. The space is open daily from 10AM – 8PM Monday – Saturday, and 11 AM – 7 PM on Sundays. With the holidays quickly approaching, this is the perfect spot for the perfect present for the father/brother/boyfriend/roommate that’s constantly on the go in the bustle of New York.
