THE NIGHTLIFE

Tao
Tao

There is not one, not two, but five restaurants at the Dream, and all have a hefty celebrity following. In fact, on any given night you should expect to see Chris Evans, a Kardashian, Jamie Foxx and more milling about the hallowed halls of The Highlight Room, Beauty & Essex, TAO, Avenue and Luchini Pizzeria. At The Highlight Room, guests should expect to find a luxe 11,000-square-foot outdoor rooftop, lounge, pool and grill set high above Hollywood with unparalleled aerial views of the famed Hollywood sign and the Los Angeles skyline. The Highlight Room’s chic, modern sundeck is the ideal destination to relax by the pool on plush loungers or in luxurious private cabanas, while enjoying a light menu and handcrafted refreshments. The restaurant will serve guests signature drinks and freshly prepared Californian fare from breakfast until mid-day. At sundown, it transforms into a too-cool-for-school rooftop bar and lounge. Then there’s TAO. Drawing strong inspiration from TAO Downtown in New York, the eatery’s L.A. outpost is a dynamic 300 seat restaurant and lounge, complete with four private dining rooms and a large bar. A grand staircase connects TAO’s two levels of seating, creating the ultimate platform to see and be seen. The menu, developed by Chef/Partner Ralph Scamardella, features a diverse menu of Asian-inspired specialties, focusing on Chinese, Japanese and Thai techniques and ingredients. At the third location of Beauty & Essex, which covers 10,000 square feet on North Cahuenga Boulevard, expect to find a maze where each room is different from the next., including a double-height main dining room with a 20-foot oval skylight and an opulent private dining room. Enter through the secret pawn shop and travel inside to discover Chef/Partner Chris Santos’ signature multi-ethnic dishes, including awesome tuna poke wonton tacos, jewels on toast and truffle mac ‘n cheese. There’s Avenue, a monolithic nightclub, and—last but not least—Luchini Pizzeria & Bar, a more casual concept that offers ‘by-the-slice’ pizzeria with a sleek design, comfortable seating, and a full bar.
