Sun sparkling on the water, waves softly cresting against the hull, a sleek yacht gracefully cutting through the ocean…not only is this Leo’s life but also the inspiration behind Chanel’s newest fine jewelry collection, Flying Cloud.
Gabrielle Chanel lived an ambitious yet romantic life full of adventure. The newest collection is inspired and created from her love for the sea and the fashionable life along the Riviera which she enjoyed alongside the Duke of Westminster. On his four-masted schooner, The Flying Cloud, the Duke and Chanel galavanted around the Mediterranean coast living a life of passion in the height of luxury.
The collection takes inspiration from Chanel’s romantic sea travels and the rich history of the sea. Sapphires in deep ocean hues, the sea’s bounty of pearls set on sculpted buoys and anchors and white gold braids calling back to sailors uniforms. The stand out piece of the collection is the Endless Knot necklace, white gold dripping with 3.51 carats of round-cut diamonds, 6.19 carats of pear-cut diamonds and 2637 round-cut diamonds and 106 rose-cut diamonds. While inspired by the ocean, this is one necklace you don’t want to throw into the ocean in the end!
