This past weekend in Miami was anything but dull, packed with back-to-back events, including one of the most anticipated opening parties of the season. Here, we take a look at the who’s who, where they’ve been and highlights of the epic weekend.
First Faces
The upcoming Miami Fashion week kicked off with its “First Faces” event hosted at the hip Langford Hotel in Downtown Miami, where guests got to take a first look at some of the potential models of the upcoming show. Afterwards, they cast their votes of who should be picked to walk the runways of the haute shows just a few weeks from now.
Palm Court Performance Series with Emily Estefan

The rising star came to showcase her talent for the crowd of the Miami Design District’s Palm Court Performance Series, a program started by Emilio Estefan. Emily, a star of many talents including singing, playing the drums as well as the guitar, showcased some of her new hits from self-produced album, Take Whatever You Want. She was joined on stage by her ever-famous parents, Gloria and Emilio Estefan.
Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science “Celebration of Science” Opening Gala

The long-awaited Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science has finally debuted in Miami, adding another layer of art and culture to the blossoming city. Miami’s elite celebrated the opening with a posh gala on Saturday evening called the “Celebration of Science” benefit, where guests got a first glimpse of the prestigious museum, in addition to a night of fine food, cocktails, live entertainment and dancing. The benefit event raised funds to support the museum’s extensive exhibitions and educational programs.
