The Dorsey Opens at the Venetian
The Venetian now has a new cocktail lounge worth checking out. The Dorsey just opened at the resort with “a home away from home” feel right off the casino floor.
This must-visit spirits spot features an inventive cocktail menu with pedigree, designed by award-winning barman Sam Ross of New York City’s Attaboy fame. Manned by the city’s top drink makers, The Dorsey is the perfect place to pop-in for a meticulously prepared drink or settle in for the evening with friends over signature cocktails, including shareable punch bowls.
Highlights from the menu include the Penicillin (scotch, fresh lemon, ginger & honey, Islay float), which New York Times named to its list of 11 essential drinks of the “modern cocktail revival;” Let’s Elope (gin, fresh melon, lime, orgeat); East Side Rickey (vodka, cucumber, mint, lime, club soda); A La Louisiane (rye, Benedictine, Italian vermouth, absinthe, bitters); Coney Island Express (rum, cold brew coffee, vanilla, Amaro Ciociaro); Creole Punch (rum, pineapple, ginger, citrus, allspice, nutmeg) and much more. The Dorsey also boasts a full-service bar with a collection of spirits, beer and wine.
The 4,500-square-foot space is filled with rich materials, such as French oak, brass, leather and marble, while the millwork exterior incorporates mahogany and brass. Intimate seating options encourage social interactions such as a separate library space with a lustrous modern fireplace as the focal point. The Dorsey also incorporates stunning digital art displayed on eight screens from artists such as Marilyn Minter, Poyen Wang and Jason Salavon.
The Dorsey is open nightly from 2 p.m. until 4 a.m.
