Haute Living Celebrates Lee Daniels with Louis XIII and Rolls-Royce
On Wednesday night, Haute Living teamed up with Louis XIII and Rolls-Royce to celebrate its November/December Haute Living cover star, Lee Daniels at Delilah in West Hollywood. The wildly successful film and television producer and director graced the cover of Haute Living San Francisco’s latest issue. On Wednesday night, all eyes were on Lee Daniels, the superstar of the night.
No scripts were needed for the special affair. An intimate crowd came together at the swanky 1920s hybrid restaurant and lounge to honor an individual who goes far beyond the words cover star; a generous, humble, kind, and extremely talented man that is Lee Daniels, who gives back through his work with Ghetto Film School, a non-profit organization which educates, develops and celebrates the next generation of great American storytellers.
Daniels pulled up in a stunning Rolls-Royce and made his way into the restaurant. The philanthropist’s mega-watt grin lit up the dim, private dining room as he mingled with his guests before taking a seat. Daniels was surrounded by boldface names such as Tasha Smith, Cuba Gooding Jr., Gabourey Sidibe, Andre Berto, David Heil, Alec Monopoly, Hilary Shor, Haute Living co-founder Seth Semilof, Editor-in-Chief Laura Schreffler, VP of Prestige Brands Yves de Launay from Louis XIII, Martin Sensmeier, and Crime by Design as well as a slew of Ghetto Film School luminaries.
Lights, camera, action, as they say, and the dinner was off to a start. Laughs and chatter filled the air as guests enjoyed cocktails and red and white wine— the nature of the occasion was very clear: a celebration. Delilah’s menu for the festivities counted on delectable selections: a chopped salad, an 8oz filet mignon, burger sliders, and poached Alaskan halibut accompanied with sides of sautéed broccolini and mac ‘n cheese. Kendall’s slutty brownie and ice cream sundaes were the desserts of choice, which made the special night just that much sweeter.
After dessert, Yves de Launay took a moment to make a toast with a special Louis XIII moment, congratulating Lee Daniels on his life successes and thanking all those in attendance for a delightful evening. Glasses clinked and the evening came to a close as guests sipped away and said their goodbyes. It was certainly an Academy Award-winning night thanks to the one and only Lee Daniels.
