If you are still recovering from the Thanksgiving holiday feast and don’t want to deal with the hassles of hosting yet another time-honored dinner again this year, why not leave it to the professionals? Start the holidays off right the night before by indulging in the Italian tradition of the Feast of the Seven Fishes at restaurants like Davio’s for a special four-course prix fixe menu that includes dishes like swordfish roulade with shrimp, escarole, mascarpone, roasted potatoes and lemon caper butter; or head over to STRIP by Strega at Park Plaza where you can sample a prix-fixe menu that features garlicky sautéed clams, scallops with parsnip puree and crispy calamari fritti. If you can’t make it out on Christmas Eve, here’s a look at five haute restaurants where you can celebrate Christmas Day in Boston.

1 The Seaport Hotel

Seaport Hotel
If you are an early riser, after opening your Christmas presents, head over to The Seaport Hotel for an indulgent brunch that runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The buffet is being held inside the hotel's restaurant (Aura) where Chef Robert Tobin has created a special menu menu for the day that includes traditional breakfast offerings (think eggs Benedict, French toast, bacon, leek and truffle quiche, and smoked salmon). From there, you will move onto heartier holiday dishes like New England clam chowder, roast sirloin with red wine and porcini mushrooms, pan roasted salmon with creamed spinach, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese and braised green beans. Be sure to save some room for a sampling of sweet treats along with a chocolate fountain for dessert. For reservations, call 617-385-4304.
