Haute Living and Tanqueray Celebrate Jai Courtney
Jai Courtney, (also known as Captain Boomerang for those who have watched Suicide Squad), celebrated his July/August 2016 Haute Living San Francisco cover on Wednesday night. Haute Living and Tanqueray teamed up to create a special affair for the cover star, which took place at République in Los Angeles. All eyes were on the anti-hero who lit up the room the moment he walked in.
After hellos were exchanged, guests took their seats with libations in hand. Haute Living Publisher and CEO Kamal Hotchandani took a moment to make a toast, honoring and congratulating Courtney and thanking all those who showed up to the dinner—glasses of champagne, red, and white wine clinked and the celebration had officially begun.
The private, candlelit space set the mood for a cozy dinner celebration. Courtney’s girlfriend Mecki Dent, Editor-in-Chief Laura Schreffler, Fashion Director Bruno Lima, Marc Roberts and Crime by Design attended the very intimate event to celebrate the guest of honor.
Other guests who joined in on the festivities included: Sam Maydew, James Mackay, Lauren Langolis, Jennifer Allen, Brittany and Tom D’amico, Shani Rosenzweig, Jordan Berkus, Marc Roberts family (Marci, Ryan, and Justin), Melissa Perry, Yancey Aries, Tina Thadani, Harleen Hunjan, and Cole Harris.
République’s menu for the special night did not disappoint; burrata crostini and grass-fed beef tartare bites kicked off the dinner. A warm French baguette with Normandy butter, hamachi crudo, and charcoal-grilled Mediterranean octopus followed shortly after. Spinach cavatelli, butternut squash agnolotti, Alaskan halibut, rotisserie chicken, and wood-oven roasted cauliflower were also served. Fruit cups, cheesecakes, and a salted caramel cake were served for dessert. Marc Robert’s cake was brought out with a candle and the crowd sang happy birthday to wrap up the feast.
The humble actor and attendees laughed and conversed throughout the entire dinner. It was a celebration from the moment Courtney walked in, to the moment he said his goodbyes. Clearly, Jai Courtney is not just a cover star; he’s a true star who gleamed the whole night through.
