1 McCarren Hotel & Pool

Nestled in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, McCarren Hotel & Pool features panoramic views of McCarren Park and the Manhattan skyline making it perfect place for a sunset happy hour or more energetic atmosphere into the night. The cocktail list, created by Francis Verrall (Seamstress & The Gilroy alum), highlights local craft distillers to pair with seasonal bites by Executive Chef Kevin Chojnowski (Public, Olives NY and Willow Road), including “Instagram worthy” Soft Shell Crab Sliders, Steamed Short Rib Buns and a fresh Shellfish Tower from the raw bar. 2 Jimmy at The James Hotel

Perched in Soho, the Jimmy sits 18 stories high. While you may be physically downtown, the spectacular views can easily transport you to the heart of Midtown. If you’re an old school kind of guy or gal, Jimmy features contemporary interpretation with a 1970s twist. There is a curated cocktail list by Johnny Swet just for JIMMY. Ingredients are mostly made in-house including syrups, bitters and freshly squeezed juices with garnishes and herbs coming from The James New York's own Chef’s Garden. Bonus: Jimmy features a pool with and guests can relax on the chaise lounges.

3 The Beach at The Dream

If you can’t make it to the Hamptons this season, don’t fret. The Beach at The Dream is the best place in the city that boasts beach vibes. The deck features imported sand, Cote D’Azur-inspired chaise lounges, two private cabanas with flat-screen televisions and a DJ booth. The Beach offers day passes for non-hotel guests to indulge in all of the amenities this rooftop has to offer. Bonus: a partially translucent glass-bottom swimming pool looking into the hotel lobby.

4 Haven Rooftop at The Sanctuary Hotel

Cushioned atop of Times Square, Haven Rooftop offers a summertime playground, complete with lounge chairs, communal tables and various outdoor summer games. Thanks to hoteliers Hank Freid and Brandon Freid, New Yorkers are presented with a local escape without having to leave Manhattan. For Summer 2016, Chef Madison Belem's menu will feature signature dishes such as the Crab & Avocado Palette and Havenly Chicken, as well as seasonal dishes like the Lobster Roll and Seasme Crusted Tuna. Award winning mixologist Isaac Grillo has carefully crafted the cocktail menu incorporating fresh seasonal ingredients in drinks like the Summertime Ibiza Sangria and Safe Haven.

5 Gallow Green at The McKittrick Hotel

If getting lost in a whimsical garden is at the top of your to-do list this summer, then look no more. The Gallow Green boasts an abundance of greenery and twinkling lights. What makes this gem better? It sits atop the McKittrick Hotel, home of the long-running interactive theater hit Sleep No More. Cocktail connoisseurs can sip, responsibly of course, libations from copper bowls and mixed drinks inspired by the Broadway show.
