The Bvlgari Serpenti Infinito Arrives in New York With a Golden High Line Installation

Bvlgari has always understood that the most powerful jewelry tells a story larger than itself. That instinct has never been more literally realized than in auruBOROS — the house’s first-ever public installation in the United States — which opened today on the High Line above Little West 12th Street in New York. A golden structure of pneumatic coiling forms emerging from beneath The Standard Hotel, it is part sculpture, part architectural anomaly, and entirely worth making your way to the Meatpacking District to see before it closes on September 20th.

The installation is the work of Plastique Fantastique, the Berlin-based duo of Marco Canevacci and Yena Young, commissioned by Bvlgari for Serpenti Infinito — the ongoing global series that has carried the Serpenti icon from Shanghai in 2023 through Seoul and Mumbai in 2025, and now to New York. Each iteration has asked the same question in a new city: how does a single symbol travel, translate, and transform across cultures? In New York, the answer is a golden form that draws on the alchemical idea of gold as transformative matter — its surface and scale reflecting the dynamic pressures and rhythms hidden beneath the city’s surface, so that each visitor who passes through experiences the city, and themselves, differently than they did before.

The name is its own story. AuruBOROS — from the Latin aurum, gold, and ouroboros, the ancient symbol of a serpent consuming its own tail — is subtitled Urban Memory and Collective Dream. It is a title that fits the High Line itself as much as the work installed on it: a structure built on the memory of something industrial, now one of the city’s most visited public spaces, dreamed into existence by the people who refused to let it disappear.

Alongside the installation, Bvlgari has unveiled a selection of High Jewelry creations that interpret New York’s artistic history through the language of Serpenti: three new Serpenti Tubogas pieces and an exclusive High Accessories minaudière make their worldwide debut this month, available in select boutiques from September.
