Our favorite Brazilian supermodel and fashion icon has amazed us once again with her newest venture: luxury handcrafted swimwear. The Victoria’s Secret Angel has gone from strutting the runways with her shimmering wings and bedazzled VS lingerie to heading backstage, as a designer. We could not be more thrilled, as it was only natural that this forever-beach-ready bombshell would eventually shift gears and become a leading swimwear designer in the industry. Ale by Alessandra Ambrosio, with its novel untraditional cuts and silky vibrant finishes, is rapidly rising to the top of the charts in the world of beachwear – we are not surprised. We didn’t expect anything but success from our Brazilian muse.
Made up of more than 75 styles of swimsuits and cover-ups and ranging from $120 to $300 a piece, the Ale collection is a perfect combination of risqué Brazilian sensuality and Malibu-chic sophistication.
With aquatic and earth tones and abstract natural patterns, Ambrosio’s line is a refreshing explosion of color and life. Boho-chic to the end, the Ale designs are airy and lively, highlighting the wearer’s best features, they are not designed to cover up but to compliment the body’s natural beauty.
Tie-dye, geometric cut-outs and fringe! Ale sure knows what girls like. Cover-ups in the collection range from breezy summer maxi dresses to intricate lace crop tops, linen pants and much more. The options are endless. In the swimsuit area, you can find a teeny tiny Brazilian barely-there nude bikini next to a cut out backless snakeskin one-piece and a suede cow-girl style two-piece. Who has ever even heard of a suede bikini? With her innovative designs and use of fabrics Ambrosio is redefining beach style like no other. We suggest running to the nearest Nordstrom or shopping online before every piece is sold out! You know we’ll be doing just that.
