Lady Gaga to Sing National Anthem at Super Bowl 50

shutterstock_334468964Lady Gaga will sing the National Anthem as part of Super Bowl 50’s pregame festivities at Levi’s Stadium on Feb. 7, bringing even more star power to the golden anniversary of the world’s largest annual sporting event. At intermission of the NFL title game pitting the Carolina Panthers against the Denver Broncos, superstars Coldplay and will be one of several special artists performing and Beyoncé will perform in the Pepsi Super Bowl 50 Halftime Show.

More than 118.5 million viewers watched last year’s Super Bowl, the most-watched television program in history. The pregame show, including the National Anthem, and Super Bowl 50 will be broadcast worldwide so make sure you are in front of the tele before kickoff at 3:30 p.m. PT.

In addition, on behalf of the National Association of the Deaf (NAD), Academy Award winning actress Marlee Matlin will perform in American Sign Language the National Anthem.

Lady Gaga, a six-time Grammy winner, is also nominated for an Oscar this year for best original song for “Til It Happens To You” from The Hunting Ground. Last month she picked up a Golden Globe statue for Best Actress in a Limited Series, Series, or Motion Picture for her performance as the Countess in “American Horror Story: Hotel.”

“I feel like Cher in that John Patrick Shanley film “Moonstruck” right now,” she said onstage. “It’s like one of the greatest moments of my life.”

She’s certain to experience another great moment come Sunday.
