Haute 100 LA: Beyoncé, J. Lo & More
The World’s Highest-Paid Female in Music list has just been released and the No. 1 and the top earning woman in the music business is not quite who’d you expect. While many would have beat a whole lot of money on Taylor Swift snagging the No. 1 spot, the highest-paid female musician is actually Katy Perry. However, no major shocker there.
Perry, who made $135 million, snagged rose to the No. 1 spot thanks to her Prismatic World Tour. While on tour the singer earned more than $2 million per city over the course of 126 shows, according to Forbes. In addition, she also has a number deals with Coty, Claire’s and Covergirl. Swift is not too far behind earning $80 million, placing her at the No. 2 spot. The country singer-turned-pop singer is still enjoying the benefits of her 2014 album 1989, which was the top release of 2014 with over 3.6 million copies sold. However, it was Swift’s star-studded world tour that helped her earned her spot behind Perry.
Also on the list are Haute 100 listers Beyoncé and Jennifer Lopez. Beyoncé earned $54.5 million, claiming the No. 5 spot. Her On the Run Tour, with hip-hop mogul husband Jay-Z, raked in more than $100 million. The Houston native also has endorsement deals with Pepsi, L’Oreal, among others. Additionally, the mother-of-on fragrance, Heat, continues to gross a huge amount of money, two years after being named the best-selling celebrity fragrance of all time. Lopez is not too far behind, claiming the No. 7 spot. The New York native earned $28.5 million. As a judge on American Idol, Lopez is earning way into the double digits. The publication also tallied her earnings from the film The Boy Next Door.
Forbes created the list based off the women’s income from June 15, 2014 to June 15, 2015. Analyst assessed the women’s earnings from any world tours, a chart-topping singles and endorsements from major companies.
