8 Pieces From Jay Jeffers New Line That We’re Seriously Lusting Over
We’re huge fans of interior designer Jay Jeffers, so when we heard that he was designing his first collection of entertaining accessories in partnership with Arteriors, we had to know more. Jeffers and Arteriors founder Mark Moussa met years ago at a design summit in New York City. However, it was on Jeffers annual New Year’s sabbatical in Mexico that the two reconnected. “We happened to be at this little tiny hotel in Zihuatanejo that I go to every year. I saw him sitting at a table outside. I walked over and Mark was surprised. He was like, ‘I could feel this person walking toward me and I didn’t know how I knew him.’ We had a great conversation about accessories and design and when I got back, he called me and asked if I was interested in doing a collection.” The resulting 38-piece collaboration is a line of lux ice buckets, cocktail shakers, lamps, and miniature tables made to hold one martini glass.
Part art deco, part Mad Men, the pieces are sexy, smart, and beautifully decorative accessories. “When I was designing, I thought about a time when people dressed for dinner and cocktails at lunch were de rigueur. This year everyone has a bar cart and these pieces, you don’t take them out for a party. You keep them out on your cart always.” The partnership was such a match made in heaven that Jeffers is designing a another collection for Arteriors. Set to debut in 2016, the second line will focus more on sophisticated furniture and lighting.
But we’re getting ahead of ourself — back to the just debuted entertaining collection. All of the pieces can be found at Jay Jeffers — The Store in San Francisco’s Tenderloin district or online. Our top eight pieces are pictured below and they include Jeffers’s favorite item from the selection, the double Champagne bucket. Naturally, the sumptuous and gilded accessories have us wanting to entertain the Jay Jeffers way: “We keep it pretty casual and chic. While I love to throw a big party, my favorite way to entertain is with low lighting, amazing drinks, fantastic food, and great friends.”
