This Week In Dubai: Ramadan Night Market, Calligraphy Whispers
It’s Ramadan in Dubai, which means the Ramadan Night Market is in full swing! The annual shopping event got underway this past week, but there’s still plenty of time to get out there if you haven’t yet. Also this past week, the Ramadan DSC Cup started at Dubai Sports City and the Z Gallery at Four Points by Sheraton began hosting a fabulous calligraphy exhibit.

This year the Ramadan Night Market is being held July 2-11 from 8 p.m. until 2 a.m. at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The traditional shopping extravaganza always has something for everyone. The vendors abound with fabulous offers for shoppers and you may even be able to finish up your Eid shopping if you haven’t already.
Last year 20,000 people visited the Ramadan Night Market on opening night alone, and in all, 125,000 shoppers made their way to the event. More than 400 different vendors have booths at the market, making the market the biggest shopping event during all of Ramadan.
In addition to shopping, there are also plenty of family-friendly activities, including a kids’ play area with face painting, mini-basketball, a train, a merry-go-round, balloons, bounce-house, and more. There’s also a food court and a traditional Arabic-themed Majlis, plus a henna painting area, and more. While attending the Ramadan Night Market, you may even want to take Iftar at one of the many high-end hotels or restaurants offering specials for the holiday.
