A Pea in the Pod Launches At Harrods

Maternity brand A Pea in the Pod has launched its first bricks and mortar store in Europe at London’s luxury retailer Harrods. The label is part of the Destination Maternity Corp.

“We are delighted and honoured to be selected as the exclusive maternity purveyor for Harrods,” says Anthony M. Romano, Chief Executive Officer of Destination Maternity. “Our focus is to provide each mum-to-be with high quality, fashion-right, great fitting apparel combined with exceptional service.” Elizabeth Mcluskie, head of children’s wear at Harrods, added that: “We are the first and only U.K. retailer to offer A Pea in the Pod and their wealth of experience in maternity wear,” she said. “Their vast range of designer brand will ensure we are the number one destination for this market in London.” The 806-square-foot space opened last week on the fourth floor at Harrods next to the store’s childrenswear department. Visitors and expectant mums to the pop-up at the store can expect a whole host of offerings from the maternity label, such as their own designs, maternity denim by the likes of Seven For All Mankind, J Brand and Paige Denim and pieces from other labels such as BCBG, Splendid, Ella Moss and Joie. There will also be offerings from Pea in the Pod’s own denim collection, which features their patented Secret Fit Belly® on exclusive styles from AG Jeans. And since the store’s European debut is happening in London, it only makes sense to highlight some British maternity style as well. Therefore the store will also offer exclusive pieces from British designers such as Séraphine, Isabella Oliver and Madderson London.

Pea in the Pod’s recent collaboration with American stylist and designer Rachel Zoe is another treat that can be expected at the pop-up. Zoe’s boho-chic Californian interpretation of maternity wear for the store will be available at Selfridges with pieces including floaty maxi-dresses and luxe caftans. “I am beyond excited about my collaboration with A Pea in the Pod!” said Zoe in a statement earlier this year when the collection dropped. “As a mother of two young boys, I truly understand how important it is to look and feel your best while you’re expecting and to never sacrifice style for comfort. These easy-to-wear pieces have just the right amount of style to take you through your pregnancy and the early months of new motherhood.”
