1 Tartine Bakery

Tartine takes the top spot in our list. For starters, the line around this Bakery is well worth the wait (so don't get discouraged!). And in case you've never tried Tartine bread, it's a "must do" if you live in SF. It totally lives up to the hype and so does everything else. Croissants, sweets, pastries are all so soft and buttery and melt-in-your-mouth good.

2 Bouchon Bakery

Ok, if we lived in Yountville, we'd be standing outside of Bouchon every day waiting for it to open. Another bakery with a no-nonsense line, but boy does it move quickly. 3 Boudin Bakery

Here's a history lesson: Boudin is the oldest continuously operating business in San Francisco. Established in 1849, It is the creator of the Original San Francisco Sourdough French Bread. Pretty cool, huh. So needless to say, Boudin Bakery is world-famous for its Original San Francisco Sourdough French Bread. If you're in the mood for a savory soup inside of a freshly baked sourdough bowl, then by all means, go for it! And don't forget to add a little something sweet on the side.
