Moët-Hennessy Invests In China Vineyard To Produce Red Wine
Moët-Hennessy has invested in a vineyard located in the mountains of China to produce red wine for the domestic Chinese market.
The luxury brand champagne maker has signed a deal with a major alcohol, wine and spirits dealer in China (VATS) to develop 30 hectares of vineyards. The land is located in the mountains of Yunnan in southwest China and are at an altitude of 2,400 meters.
Five years ago Moët-Hennessy acquired a Chinese spirits brand from the Sichuan area, and last year it began the production of sparkling wine in the Ningxia Hui province.
The major growth in the wine industry in China is attributed to the explosive growth in middle and upper classes. Cheers!
