Haute Event: Mondrian Soho Grand Opening

News | March 15, 2011

On Thursday, March 10, the Mondrian Soho hotel opened its doors to a huge grand opening event with a who’s who of Manhattan. Guests including Russell Simmons, Brad Goreski, Olivia Palermo, Stavros Niarchos, Eve, Prabal Gurung, Charlotte Ronson, Richard Chai, Jessica Hart, Ally Hilfiger, Harley Viera-Newton and many more braved the rain for a fabulous cocktail party that took over the hotel’s lobby, Garden Room, and breathtaking penthouse.

Later in the evening, The Kills’ Jamie Hince and Allison Mosshart rocked the room with a live performance. The party continued on into the night with DJ sets by DJs Kiss and Harley Viera-Newton followed by DJ Mia Moretti, who spun at Mister H. until 4 a.m. During the celebration, artist and director Poppy de Villeneuve premiered her short film Love is Like Life but Longer, which was screened in various locations on the property and projected onto Mondrian Soho’s façade on Crosby Street.

Mondrian Soho is Morgans’ third addition to the distinguished Mondrian brand, and the company’s downtown debut in Manhattan’s famed SoHo neighborhood. For more information on the Mondrian Soho click here.
