Fashion’s Night Out 2010 Outfits Miami’s Design District

In a city that turns up the heat by breaking even fashion’s cardinal rules, Fashion’s Night Out, created to celebrate fashion, restore consumer confidence, and boost the industry’s economy, infiltrates the trendsetting scene of Miami’s Design District with rare designer appearances, live windows, celebrity guests, and other special events tied to the unprecedented global initiative. FNO, presented in association with the world’s fashion bible, Vogue, is led by American Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, NYC & Co. and the City of New York, but the New York City event for uptown tastes launches in cities worldwide Sept. 7-16, and will be featured in an hour-long special on CBS on Sept. 14. Miami will take its turn celebrating Fashion’s Night Out in the Design District on Sept. 10.

“We are thrilled to be able to participate in a worldwide event as dynamic and exciting as Fashion’s Night Out,” Craig Robins, Chief Executive Officer and president of Dacra, says. Dacra is the global real estate development company responsible for transforming the Miami Design District into a world-renowned center for cutting-edge fashion, art, design and food, proving Robins a viable source. “We’re sure this special evening will bring a great deal of fun and creativity to the Miami Design District.”

Miami’s elite can expect to see in-store presentations around the Design District, such as a showcase of Marni’s summer collection and the brand’s collaboration with French artist Claude Caillol, who created a series of striking images for a special line of Marni T-shirts and vinyl bags, as well as a presentation of En Avance’s fall collection.

Other participating retailers include Duncan Quinn, FriendsWithYou, Genius Jones, I on the District, Kiliwatch Miami, Maison Martin Margiela, Marimekko, Nektar de Stagni, Sebastian James, Tomas Maier, Turchin Love & Light Collection and Y-3.

Being dressed right isn’t enough, so Maybelline, FNO’s national sponsor, is setting up a pop-up Color Studio with four makeup stations where artists will offer guests styling tips, makeovers and information about seasonal trends and the latest Maybelline products.

Whet your palette with gourmet tastes from Fratelli Lyon, Maitardi, Q American Barbeque, and Sra. Martinez, and sip on cocktails courtesy of Grey Goose Vodka. Live musical performances are set to take place in Oak Plaza starting at 9 p.m. Fashion is the focus, but Fashion’s Night Out 2010 in Miami’s Design District promises entertainment abound.
