Hawaii Paradise Food and Wine Classic Westin Moana Surfrider, Waikiki
In customary “Aloha Friday” spirit, guests were graciously welcomed at the 3rd Annual Hawaii Food and Wine Paradise event. Part of a three-day (May 27 – 29th) food lover festival celebrating the best of food and wine in the Islands. It was an outstanding culinary experience benefiting the Kapolei Foundation which supports high school students seeking college scholarship.
The VIP reception was held at the historic Westin Moana Surfrider hotel in Waikiki where guests were greeted with fine wines from Napa Valley, ultra- premium Pau Hawaiian Vodka from Maui, and 100% organic Casa Noble Tequila. It was a unique opportunity for wine enthusiasts to speak directly with the wine makers, and owners from Silver Oak, Levendi, Rombauer, Delectus, Emeritus, Reynolds, and Jarvis Wineries.
Guests were ushered to the dining room to enjoy a five-course culinary extravaganza from Hawaii’s top chefs Colin Hazama (St. Regis Princeville Resort), Rodney Uyehara (Westin Moana Surfrider), Jon Matsubara (Azure), Richard Lancaster (Westin Moana Surfrider), and Ryan Loo (Twist at Hanohano). With each luxurious bite, guests experienced the best in Pacific cuisine including local Big Island abalone, Hawaiian swordfish, and Keahole Lobster. The chefs and winemakers joined the stage to share the stories behind the preparation of the dishes, and wine pairings. To conclude the remarkable evening, world-class Honolulu designer, Anne Namba, delighted guests with a preview of her summer 2010 collection.
