Tea and Champagne at the Honolulu’s Historic Moana Surfrider
If you are looking for a relaxing afternoon, consider the Moana Surfrider in Waikiki for afternoon tea and Champagne. Built in 1901, this world-class hotel is a landmark on Oahu and is often referred to as the “First Lady of Waikiki”. Set amongst huge Indian Banyan trees, The Veranda is one of many dining options at the hotel. Located steps away from the sparkling Pacific Ocean, this spot offers amazing views of the water, Diamond Head, and the Victorian architecture of the historic hotel.
Guests have the options of the “Moana Classic Tea Service,” which is a traditional afternoon tea or the “First Lady Tea Service,” complete with sparkling dry rose and a beautiful Sandalwood fan. Upon seating, a cart of aromatic teas is rolled out customized for each guest. Selections range from lavender to locally grown Hawaiian teas such as mango and macadamia nut. The Veranda’s most popular tea is their signature blend, Moana Sunset, which is a duo of berries and sweet mango.
Once the teas and Champagne are served, all enjoy the scones and finger sandwiches. Served on elegant trays, it is a delicious sampling of pastries and petit fours. As you dine alfresco, live Hawaiian music is performed often accompanied by Hula.
The Moana Surfrider is a Westin Resort and Spa located on Waikiki Beach at 2365 Kalakaua Avenue, Honolulu, Hawaii 96815.
