Photographs of the 18th-floor Sherry-Netherland penthouse that was listed for $95 million last week are trickling out, and making real estate watchers wonder if the price tag is justified. “The acquisition of this property is much more than a real estate transaction; it is the fulfillment of a lifestyle dream,” notes broker Kathy Sloane’s florid description of the residence. “Life at the Sherry has been an expression of privilege since 1927. Night and day, this is the one.”
Liberty Travel founder Gilbert Haroche is selling the conservatively decorated 7,000-square-foot apartment, whose biggest draw, many agree, is its two enormous terraces with dramatic views of Central Park and The Plaza.
