Juul has caved in. The e-cigarette manufacturer has announced that it will stop selling flavored products, like mango, fruit and more. These have been considered as a gateway for teenagers to migrate to vaping. The company has faced severe scrutiny and lawsuits from individuals, groups and state governments alike.

Earlier this month, the City of New York sued Juul and other e-cigarette makers for targeting young people in their marketing.
In a statement posted on the Juul website, the company’s new CEO, K.C. Crosthwaite, is “leading a broad review of the company’s practices and policies.”
According to the statement, Juul:
- Suspended all broadcast, print, and digital product advertising in the U.S.
- Ceased active support of Proposition C in San Francisco
- Is refraining from lobbying the Administration on its draft flavor guidance and will fully support and comply with the final policy when effective
The company also says it has suspended “non-tobacco, non-menthol-based flavors (Mango, Creme, Fruit, and Cucumber) in the U.S., pending FDA review.”
Crosthwaite says, “We must reset the vapor category by earning the trust of society and working cooperatively with regulators, policymakers, and stakeholders to combat underage use while providing an alternative to adult smokers.”
