My greatest achievement:
It’s a toss-up between getting triple-board certified in internal medicine, dermatology, and dermatopathology and being able to play the 3rd movement of Rachmaninoff’s 2nd Piano Concerto.
The future of my field is:
Personalized/customized medicine (with more testing in areas like the microbiome) and non-invasive procedures
The biggest misconception about my field is:
That it is all cosmetic. Dermatology is one of the most challenging residencies to apply to and undergo. There are thousands of disease entities that dermatologists have to know down to the microscopic level (one-third of our board exam is at the microscope).
My most requested procedures are:
Botox/Dysport, mole or cyst removals.
What are you best known for?
Taking a holistic or integrative approach in medical dermatological conditions and performing cosmetic procedures that appear very natural.
What is your most memorable patient reaction?
When patients shed tears and share so much gratitude.
What sets my practice apart:
I provide both conventional and holistic treatment options for my patients for all medical skin conditions. When providing consultation for skincare and anti-aging, I not only discuss a skincare regiment and various procedures, but I also discuss diet, supplements, and mindfulness. Our practice is located in a very convenient location in the greater New Orleans area, and we are also known for our very friendly and accommodating staff.
What I love most about my profession is:
Dermatology encompasses so many areas of medicine – adults, pediatrics, surgery, pathology, inpatient medicine, cosmetics, autoimmune conditions, infectious diseases, and much more!
Career defining procedure?
Natural outcomes with neuromodulators and fillers
What new services are you excited to offer?
We carry the latest hyaluronic acid fillers. We are using new growth factor serums with micro-needling. And I am now offering nationwide skincare consultations.
