Was there a personal and/or professional experience that inspired you to open your practice?
In 1993, I became an integral part of an esteemed practice led by Chalmers E. Cornelius, III, MD, a solo practitioner who had been dedicated to serving the community since 1968. He trained at The University of Pennsylvania Dermatology Residency program, a path I also pursued. I had always wanted to offer a comprehensive medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology practice where all skin needs could be addressed. Thirty years later, Cirillo Institute is just that, with the additional bonus of a fully integrated plastic surgery practice!
What was your mission at the start of opening your practice? Has it changed?
My favorite quote is, “It is always about the patient." My mission has always been the same, to offer state-of-the-art, comprehensive medical, surgical, and cosmetic skin care to our community.
If you had to pick three words to describe the vibe of your practice, what would they be and why?
Energetic: All of our doctors and staff work extremely hard to provide the patient with the best experience possible. We are always willing to take advice from our patients to improve our processes.
Educated: All of our doctors and medical providers are trained at the finest education institutions in the country.
Collaborative: We work together as an integrated team to provide the best care to our established and new patients. We present cases to each other daily to ensure the highest level of care.
How did you come up with the name of your practice?

What is the future of your field?
The future trajectory of our field involves the ongoing incorporation of science-based, effective treatments with reduced downtime.
What are you best known for?
Personally, I am known for my sense of humor and love for all Philadelphia sports teams! Clinically, I am known for my skin cancer expertise and for being an innovator in cosmetic dermatology. I provide natural and conservative results to my cosmetic patients.
What is unique about your practice?
The uniqueness of Cirillo Institute lies in having three practices that offer our patients the most comprehensive and advanced skin care.
Are there any new services you are excited to offer?
We are enthusiastic about introducing novel services such as RHA’s Redensity fillers and Daxxify neuromodulators to our patients. I anticipate more fillers and neuromodulators coming to the market in 2024. We have consistently embraced cutting-edge technologies and products ahead of the curve, ensuring that our patients are the first to experience the latest and most advanced treatments available.
Also, we are excited to offer complete body contouring technology, (e.g., EmSculpt NEO, CoolSculpting ELITE, and Exilis Ultra) to address “EVERY BODY.”
What is one underrated service that doesn’t receive as much press as it should be?
One underappreciated service that deserves more recognition is hair restoration utilizing LaseMD Ultra, PRP, and Exosomes. We are seeing impressive results achieved through the effective combination of these diverse modalities.
