Attention moms, this one is for you. Now, that we have you focused – we want to know, are you looking to be Cool for the Summer? Better yet, fit for the summer? Haute Beauty expert Dr. Thomas McNemar has a solution for you – a “Mommy Makeover.” Wondering what exactly that entails? Let’s dive right in.

A "Mommy Makeover" is a combination of procedures tailored to that person's needs, desires, and goals along with the doctor's recommendation. Those recommendations usually include a combination of the following:

  • Abdominoplasty, also known as the Tummy Tuck.
  • Breast Augmentation, either Saline or Silicone and we offer an array of implants to suit your needs and desires.
  • Mastopexy,  otherwise known as the breast lift.
  • Liposuction 360, is popular for those wanting to sinch the waist and includes the central abdomen, hips, flanks, and lower back.
  • Facelift, in some cases, is added as well.

Recovery Time

The recovery period for a Mommy Makeover typically lasts for a minimum of two to six weeks. Your doctor will provide you with detailed postoperative instructions, which you should follow carefully to help speed up your recovery. It's important to share these instructions with your post-surgery caregiver, as they will need to be knowledgeable about the potential side effects of surgery and anesthesia in order to provide you with proper care. During your recovery, make sure to drink plenty of fluids and avoid alcohol for at least 10 days. Additionally, take steps to protect the surgical areas from any impact or trauma.

Restrictions

To ensure optimal healing, it's important to avoid any activities that may cause pain or raise your pulse or blood pressure during the first two to three weeks after your Mommy Makeover. For the first two weeks, driving should be avoided, and for six weeks, swimming and lifting anything over 10 lbs should be avoided. Walking is encouraged as much as possible, as it helps with circulation and healing. It's also essential to protect your skin from sunlight by using a minimum SPF 46 sunscreen, especially on surgical site areas. To further aid in healing and reduce scarring, we offer post-operative healing and scar products.

Results

Post-surgical swelling and bruising are common with all procedures. While most of the swelling for most surgical procedures will subside within 2-4 months, there may be some residual swelling that can last up to a year for some patients. To accelerate healing, we recommend taking turmeric, Vitamin C, and Arnicare (both orally and topically). The longevity of your results can be influenced by genetic factors, lifestyle choices, and how you age. Maintaining a healthy weight and avoiding fluctuations in weight can help preserve the elasticity of your skin. Adopting a healthy diet low in sugar and carbs can aid in weight management. Implementing a good skincare routine, receiving regular skin treatments, and using sunscreen to protect against the effects of aging can also help prolong the results of your Mommy Makeover.
