The Facts Surrounding A Neck Lift

When you ask yourself what the most important part of your face is, you might have a different answer than your friend or companion, which is totally normal. But, most of the time, people will say their neck. Why? Well, as Zoom culture and a facetime with a distant friend have been heavily added into the everyday equation, there is one thing you can not hide, and that is your face and neck. This has resulted in facial enhancement being a primary concern for many, especially in Haute Beauty expert Dr. Jhonny Salomon’s office.

The neck is such an important part of the face. In fact, it is often the primary area of concern for people. Luckily, the neck is a fairly easy part of the face to address with a neck lift. To get a glimpse into what a neck life might look like for you, Dr. Salomon addresses the facts. Here they are:

There are four reasons why a neck lift is needed.

Most people come in for a neck lift because of the excess skin. Other reasons include turkey neck, excess fat, or just the jawline.

70% of people get a neck lift in unison with a facelift.

Many people think that if they are undergoing one surgery, it can’t hurt to undergo another one. Facial enhancement procedures work towards achieving a youthful look, regardless if you get one or both.

A neck lift is a very simple procedure.

It does depend on the anatomy of a patient but most of the time a neck life is done by removing the excesses of skin, tightening the jawline, resuspending the muscle, retightening the muscle of the neck, which is called the platysma of the muscle and some type of removal of fat in the central neck. There are two types of fat, there’s fat above and fat below the muscle. Sometimes one or both is to be addressed. And retightening the muscle for sure is an integral part of the surgery.

There are scars involved.

The scars are just at the lobule of the ear, in front to get the jawline proper, and behind the ear. And sometimes, the scar is just underneath the chin, which is called a submental scar, in order to tighten the muscle and remove the central fat.

Neck lifts are typical for people in their late 30s.

Sagging skin can begin in your late 30’s. There are people who come in for a neck lift in their late 60s to 70s to get their first neck lift, it just depends on the person. If you get a neck lift earlier on in life, I’d suggest waiting 15-20 years for a second one to be done

Early sagging of the neck sparks from genetics.

There are a few things you can do to help a turkey neck or avoid extra fat, like living a healthy lifestyle. But at the end of the day, most of the changes are genetic. The early sagging of the muscle is genetic. The excess of fat is genetic. The jawline is genetic.

A good determinant of this aging process is genetics. At the end of the day, just live your best life and hope you have good genes, but if your parents dealt with early aging in the neck, you’ll probably have it as well.
