Serving as one of the most electrifying award shows, MTV’s VMAs always delivers some of the most fun and risk-taking looks of the year. For years, the award show also serves up new trends that we can’t seem to get enough of. Last night, our favorite celebs brought the heat to the red carpet with major beauty inspo and we’re here to highlight all the looks you need to know.
1. Lizzo
Lizzo has had an incredible year in terms of music and now she’s making statements when it comes to her makeup. One of the first to hit last night’s red carpet, the songstress turned heads with a total punk princess look featuring a matte, teal lipstick with a gold lip ring. Her hair was slicked back for a wet hairstyle which highlighted her bold earring choice.
2. Dove Cameron
The punk trend continues with Dove Cameron stepping on the scene with an epic emo look. She shows that she’s mastered the viral TikTok trend Siren Eyes, with a smokey, dark eyeshadow. The singer/actress then pulled her hair back into pigtail braids leaving two face-framing pieces in the front. Lastly, she showed off a black and red manicure to pull together the full look.
3. Chloe Bailey
Singer Chloe Bailey has yet to miss a look on a carpet. Last night the starlett showed off a high, super-long ponytail that highlighted her makeup. Her ethereal beauty was done by makeup artist David Velasquez. The look consisted of a nude, glossy lip and bold lashes that accessorized her silver dress perfectly.
4. Taylor Swift
Swift showed up showcasing her signature red lip look with a little bit of a twist for this year’s VMAs. The singer gave us a full bedazzled vibe to match her crystal-embossed dress. Her face featured some Euphoria-esque face gems as eyeshadows in the shape of a cat eye.
5. Ashley Graham
Classic in all the right ways, the stunning Ashley Graham gave us a gorgeous smokey eye and nude lip combo that accentuated her features for the perfect night-out look. She kept her hair flowing with slight waves and a middle part.
6. Nicki Minaj
The queen herself was the honoree of the night accepting the VMA’s Vanguard Award so you know she pulled out all the stops. The rapper showed up in a total Barbie look featuring a hot pink, long wig channeling her Pink Friday era. She also wore icy blue contacts and a vibrant lip for a full girly look.
