Singer, actor, and part-time TikTok influencer – Joe Jonas stays entertaining us at all times. From rising to stardom at an early age, the boy bander shot to fame with his brothers in what was one of the biggest boy bands ever, The Jonas Brothers. Jonas is no stranger to the spotlight and is one of those stars who try to keep it real 24/7. He recently opened up to Allure about his injectables procedure and how he’s trying to reduce the stigma around males receiving cosmetic procedures.
As you know it is not every day that male celebrities admit to getting any type of procedure like Botox or filler, so Joe's recent partnership with Xeomin, which is an FDA-approved botulinum toxin-A alternative to Botox used to smooth the appearance of frown lines and crow’s feet, is definitely not the first partnership people would guess, but the world is evolving. “To me, there’s nothing more beautiful than confidence. And looking your best comes from feeling your best. I make it a point to prioritize practices and routines that make me feel like the best version of myself,” Jonas tells Allure.
When it came to choosing to partner with Xeomin, the singer says, “Xeomin was something that I felt was a good fit with my daily routines. I care a lot about what I put in my body, and, obviously, in an aesthetic treatment. I really felt that Xeomin was something that I could be comfortable with and it wasn’t overwhelming. While I didn’t feel like I was a different person [by using it], it gave me that confidence that I think we all want to feel as we get older. There’s this kind of stigma around guys talking about skincare and how we feel and the products we use. I felt like it was a good fit. “
When did the star choose to start this procedure? Well, around the same time so many of us decide to start these treatments. He shares, “I Started Xeomin when I noticed I was starting to see more frown lines. Of course, everyone has an opinion, but everyone can also make their own decisions for themself. I felt like personally, this was something that gave me the confidence boost that I was looking for. Yes, it is getting more mainstream and there’s less negative connotation that comes with these types of procedures and skin-care routines. I find it to be something that I’m glad we’re able to discuss openly without it feeling like it’s a big secret for people. And, of course, to each their own. There are people that obviously don’t want to talk about it, but I think it’s nice to start to shy away from being shy about it [and to find] the confidence in yourself to say, “I did this.”
And there you have it. We have to commend Joe for his openness and honesty when it comes to doing what feels good for him while also helping to erase the male stigma around cosmetic procedures. No matter what routines Joe takes on, he’ll always be a heartthrob in our book.
