Lovebirds Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker have been on cloud nine since the start of their relationship and recently tied the knot in May with an extravagant celebration in Portofino. However, the couple has already faced some difficult challenges together over the short time they have been married.

The Blink-182 drummer recently revealed that he has been facing some health issues and spent some time at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he experienced a life-threatening medical scare. Barker made it clear to fans that he needed help as he shared a tweet shortly before being taken to the hospital, which read, “God save me.” The mysterious message led to an outpour of support from followers sending good energy and prayers as Barker received treatment for his severe case of pancreatitis.

Haute MD expert Dr. Vineet Sandhu shared some insight on the drummer’s diagnosis, explaining, “Travis Barker was hospitalized for severe pancreatitis secondary to an ampullary polyp. An abnormal growth called a polyp can develop at a duct location, causing blockage and back up into the pancreas. It can start noncancerous but can turn into cancer. As it grows, an ampullary polyp can cause a blockage to the pancreatic or bile duct as it did in this case.”

His close friends and family, including Kid Cudi and his daughter Alabama Barker, took to the internet to express their concern and send their best wishes to the talented musician in hopes of a speedy recovery. In addition, the reality star and Poosh founder Kourtney Kardashian was reportedly by her husband’s side throughout his hospital stay.

While the artist remained quiet about the issues on social media at first, he has since recovered. On July 2nd, Barker updated fans via Instagram story, writing, “I went in for an endoscopy Monday feeling great. But after dinner, I developed excruciating pain and have been hospitalized ever since. During the endoscopy, I had a very small polyp removed right in a very sensitive area, usually handled by a specialist, which unfortunately damaged a critical pancreatic drainage tube. This resulted in severe life-threatening pancreatitis.” His daughter Alabama, who has gained a large following on social media, also spoke out on Instagram, reassuring fans that her father was recovering and thanking everyone for their continued love and support.

Per Barker’s reports of extreme pain, Dr. Sandhu writes, “Pancreatitis is a severely painful condition located in the upper abdomen, is usually acute in onset a most commonly caused by alcohol, high triglycerides, medications, or polyps. The treatment is to treat the underlying cause, lots of IV fluids, anti-emetics, and relief of the pain. A rare case but very glad to see he is ok!”

For now, Travis and Kourtney seem to have returned to their regular daily activities, and Barker appears to be in good health. Wishing the couple the best of luck in the next phase of their relationship!
