From creating platinum-scoring albums to winning an Oscar, Lady Gaga practically invented the phrase, “if you can dream it, you can achieve it.” And now, the 35-year-old multihyphenate will once again grace the big screen in Ridley Scott’s much anticipated film, “House of Gucci,” which places Gaga in the role of heiress turned convicted murderer Patrizia Reggiani. “When it comes to movies, I’m unafraid to challenge myself to look like the character,” Gaga told Vogue about the significance of hair and makeup — two things she certainly knows more than a thing or two about.

After all, she launched Haus Laboratories two years ago as a startup disconnected from a major cosmetic company. Though she wasn’t a beauty expert the moment she became an entrepreneur, Gaga and her group of co-collaborators — including acclaimed makeup artist Sarah Tannoestablished a beauty brand supported by the same individualistic spirit. “Our mission is to spread kindness, bravery, and creativity to the world by providing these tools for self-expression and, if you’re so inclined, reinvention,” she said.

With bold glitters and long-wear lipstick serving as a sort of “uniform” for her career, Gaga set certain standards for her beauty brand’s goods. “I’ve tried so many different products, so creating makeup that could withstand a stage performance was important to me,” she said. That’s why nothing leaves her company’s warehouse without Gaga testing it herself, and that includes her newest drop: the Love For Sale Shadow Palette

Already available for sale, the limited-edition palette features 18 super-saturated shades that Gaga created while working on her second album with Tony Bennett. Just as the record was devoted to the 1930s jazz standards of Cole Porter, the palette was inspired by one of Porter’s songs called “Night and Day.” That said, the narrative behind Love For Sale is all about creating timeless glam looks using innovative formulas that deliver high-performance, long-lasting colors.

“I think the celebration of makeup is beautiful, but I also think what’s beautiful is someone who may not know if they’re very good at makeup but may want to try anyway,” Gaga said. “I want to speak to that person and say, ‘I see you and I hear you. This is me singing to you through makeup instead of my voice.’”
