What is your greatest achievement?
After many years of practicing medicine and performing surgery, I'm very grateful about having the opportunity and success to help so many people achieve their goals in looking younger and revived. I'm at the point where I'm overwhelmed by the people whom I have helped.
What is the future of your field?
The future of the field is that it will become more and more automated, non-invasive, and performed by lower-level providers. However, it's not necessarily good to remove the artistic component or the surgeon with the expertise, technique, and experience to achieve those goals. There will always be a need and a demand for experienced, artistic plastic surgeons but unfortunately, the future is heading away from this.
What is the biggest misconception about your field?
Plastic surgery is often seen as requiring a general anesthetic. However, in my practice, nothing could be further from this supposition. All of my procedures are performed under local anesthesia, which I believe is safer. The other misconception is that the surgeon must cut corners in order to perform the surgery within the time allotted for local anesthesia. It is the surgeon's skill that makes it faster and not the abbreviation of technique.
What are your most requested procedures?
Facelift, blepharoplasty, and laser resurfacing.
What surgical advancements are you most excited about?
I'm most excited about the results of my facelifts and think about ways to fine-tune techniques depending upon the patient's anatomy.
What are you best known for?
Facelifts!
What is your most memorable patient reaction?
My memorable patient reactions are too numerous to count or specifically recall. Patient emotions I remember are thankfulness, gratitude, and appreciation.
What sets your practice apart?
I do all my procedures under local anesthesia.
What do you love most about your profession?
The artistic aesthetic side.
What is your career-defining procedure?
Facelift.
What new services are you excited to offer?
Fat transfer using a new Beautifill device, which reports a greater than 90% take rate for grafted fat.
