Alex Rodriguez Unveils New Concealing Blur Stick For Men

Despite hitting record-worthy home runs, stealing over 300 bases, and playing a killer fielder for 22 seasons of Major League Baseball, Alex Rodriguez has entered a new playing field: skincare. The former baseball star and newfound skincare enthusiast partnered with telehealth company Hims & Hers to develop the brand’s first Blur Stick.

Created to bring men confidence, the concealing stick helps cover any imperfections from under-eye circles to razor bumps. In addition to providing long-lasting coverage that’s sweat-proof, the product hydrates the skin with nourishing ingredients like jojoba seed oil, dog-rose oil, and aloe extract.

Rodriguez, 45, struggled to find a product to cover his occasional blemishes that benefitted the skin. Thus, the inspiration behind the Blur Stick was born, and A-Rod turned toward Hims & Hers to create a concealing product that would expand the already lacking market for men.

Available in eight different shades, the Blur Stick’s formula works on a diverse range of skin tones and textures. Additionally, it’s packaged in a sleek, travel-friendly tube that’s simple to use. “[Skin care] really hasn't been that important to me for a long time, unfortunately,” Rodriguez told People in July. “And playing over 25 years of professional baseball and being exposed to the sun pretty much every day of my life, in many ways I'm paying the price now… But I'm catching up, and I do see improvement.”

At the beginning of the year, Rodriguez and former partner Jennifer Lopez collaborated as investors in Hims & Hers. Despite ending their engagement, the two did not end their business relationship. According to Good Morning America, the former couple also collaborated with fitness app Fitplan and still share properties in New York and Florida. 

On Thursday, the couple released a joint statement to the Today Show: “We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so. We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and one another’s children.”
