The Discovery Eyeshadow Palette comes in a crescent moon-themed, sleek compact and has seven easy-to-wear, crease-resistant shades that are made to stay put all day without fading. According to Rare Beauty’s website, the palette was inspired by Selena’s journey of self-discovery and celebrates the ever-changing colors we reflect every day. The rich, buttery shades range from mattes to metallics, with the center shade being a 3D glitter top-coat which adds a shimmering dimension to any make-up look.
The shades include Undeniable, a matte purple taupe; Genuine, a matte peach, Passionate, a duo-chrome magenta gold; Accepting, a glittering rose to bronze; Loyal, a matte warm brown; Positive, metallic pink champagne; and Pure, a metallic true gold.

To obtain the best results when applying the eyeshadow, it is recommended to use a thin layer of the Always an Optimist Weightless Eye Primer. The eye primer is made to be a lightweight and creamy primer that provides instant hydration made to last all day. The primer dries quickly to create a seamless and silky smooth base for eyeshadow application. It also contains a tinted peach formula to help the colors pop, creating a more vibrant and long-lasting wear.
Rare Beauty launched in September of 2020 with the mission to “help everyone celebrate their individuality by redefining what beautiful means.” Gomez’s goal was to create an impact through her beauty brand by promoting self-acceptance and giving people the tools they need to feel less alone in the world.
“Our vision is to create a safe, welcoming space in beauty – and beyond – that supports mental well-being across age, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, cultural background, physical or mental ability, and perspective.”
Gomez’s new eyeshadow palette is a colorful twist on warm, neutral shadow looks with the purpose of “ease and making things uncomplicated.”
