As the world of cosmetic treatments continues to evolve, there is no doubt that the newest and most effective treatment method is plasma. It provides results that are one step above other laser treatments. Plasma achieves phenomenal results utilizing its own unique path to fractional skin resurfacing. The Opus Plasma uses unipolar radiofrequency energy as its primary method of treating skin tone, texture, and even skin laxity. When the device is placed near the skin, the charged metal tips of the roller head react to atmospheric pressure and generate plasma right from the air, and creates tiny channels in the skin. This, in turn, induces fractional injuries in the microthermal zones of one’s skin. The Opus Plasma device operates at over 40 MHz, which is a much higher level than any other option on the market to date. The outcome? The holy grail of collagen and elastin production is stimulated resulting in skin that is bright, firm, and highly oxygenated providing a much younger and refreshed appearance.
HB: What is the treatment like?
The Opus Plasma treatment is incredibly tolerated, with most patients rating it at only a 3 or 4 out of 10 on a pain scale. At Xanadu Med Spa we use a highly concentrated topical anesthetic that further ensures the discomfort is reduced and the procedure is easily managed. It actually takes longer to numb than it does to receive the treatment itself. Fraxel treatments can take about 30 minutes, and a fractional CO2 laser can take up to an hour, but the Opus Plasma only takes about 15-20 minutes to perform a full-face treatment.
One of the best points about the Opus Plasma is the fact that it is very customizable. The intensity can be customized to each client depending on needs. It may be dialed down to that of RF Microneedling or it may be turned up to achieve results comparable to a fractional CO2 laser (but without the pain or downtime associated with CO2 treatments).

HB: How many Opus Plasma sessions do you need to achieve the best results?
You will absolutely notice the results after only one treatment, but like most procedures, the magic “three-pack” is where you will get your biggest wow factor. This allows our team to really customize a treatment for you, increasing the intensity of each one as you navigate the process. You will find that after each treatment your skin will continue to improve exponentially. Note that as much as we would like to halt the aging process – it continues whether we like it or not. Regular maintenance will be required every 6 months to a year after your initial treatment package is completed.
HB: Who is a good candidate?
Whether you are looking to visually reduce the signs of aging or simply want the best opportunity to care for and provide regular maintenance for your skin, the Opus Plasma is for you! This highly affordable procedure is incredibly tolerable for most people and will really provide one of the best bangs for the buck in the industry. HB: How long do the results last?
While it depends on how intense a treatment you receive, this device has the ability to achieve phenomenal outcomes with long-lasting results. We always recommend three treatments out of the gate, spaced four to six weeks apart. We are finding that our clients are noticing improvements in tone and texture after only one treatment. This is another procedure that takes some time to see the full results, however. It will take about 3 months for the collagen and elastin outcomes to fully show themselves and their impact on the skin tightening effects. The Opus Plasma is a real “game-changer” in our industry and we are excited to be one of the first to offer it.
