HB: What changes do you anticipate seeing in the realm of elective procedures/treatments?
The state of Florida has allowed medical facilities to re- open for non-emergency/ non-essential cases. We will have to triage patients carefully to determine their needs and start with the smaller, less complicated surgical cases. Additionally, the number of cases performed per day will have to be limited as well. Also, performing virtual consultations will be something we will be doing more often. This allows the patient to be seen at a time that works for them and it also limits the time that they spend at the office.
HB: Are there any limitations on what is allowed and not allowed?
At the beginning we will be performing the simpler procedures as we work through the issues and requirements placed on medical practices. Elective procedures can be performed with all the precautions required. The medical spa is not open yet, as we are waiting for the directive from the State of Florida on their opening guidelines and requirements.
HB: What new protocols are in effect, now that your practice is officially reopened?
We have implemented extra precautions for the safety of our staff and patients. Staff will all be wearing personal protective equipment. Additionally we have installed special air filters to limit the spread of COVID-19 , surgical patients will be tested for prior to their surgery date, patients will be provided with shoe covers, and all the exam rooms in the office will be thoroughly cleansed in between patients as well as the waiting areas and bathrooms. Hand sanitizers will be readily available throughout the office. Social distancing guidelines will be implemented – we will not have more than 1 patient in the patient waiting area at a time and patients are asked to not bring anyone else to the appointment with them if possible.

HB: What select services are you now providing to patients?
We are performing elective procedures and services as well as injectables and fillers.
HB: Are you planning on expanding on the services you currently offer ahead of Summer?
We are not so sure due to the uncertainty currently. We are hopeful that we will be able to offer more services to our patients, but the uncertainty makes it difficult to plan for the summer.
