Dr. Dan Yamini and Dr. Steven Svehlak of Sunset Cosmetic Surgery in Los Angeles, California chat with Haute Beauty about their Mommy Makeover procedure.
HB: What is the Mommy Makeover?
One of our signature (and most popular) procedures at Sunset Cosmetic Surgery is the Mommy Makeover.
From carrying a child for nine months, giving birth, breastfeeding, and everything in between, motherhood can be exceptionally disruptive to a woman’s body. We designed the Mommy Makeover plan to address any and all of the physical repercussions that mothers often experience.
HB: How does the Mommy Makeover work?
Every Mommy Makeover consists of a combination of a Tummy Tuck and either a liposuction or a breast rejuvenation procedure (breast augmentation, breast lift, etc.).
As plastic surgeons, Sunset’s Dr. Svehlak and Dr. Yamini are specialists in both breast and body procedures. The doctors give a personalized consultation to every patient who is interested in a Mommy Makeover so that they can design a custom plan to help every woman achieve her unique goals.
The doctors understand that motherhood affects the body of each individual woman differently so they made a point to make the Mommy Makeover completely customizable.
HB: Do you prefer it to other methods?
There are several advantages to bundling procedures together in a single operation. First of all, raising a family is expensive and we understand that it’s imperative for mothers to be efficient with their spending. By undergoing several procedures at the same time, we only need to charge for significant overhead expenses like anesthesia and operating expenses once.
Compared to several single-procedure surgeries, the recovery time for a Mommy Makeover is also often shorter because it is a single period of recovery.

HB: What does recovery look like?
Due to the fact that the procedures that make up a Mommy Makeover can vary, so do the recovery times. Typically, patients who have undergone a Mommy Makeover have returned to non-physical activities in 2-3 weeks and are back to full activity within a month or two.
HB: Who is a good candidate?
Any mother who wants to get her body back to how she remembers it before motherhood is a good candidate for a Mommy Makeover at Sunset Cosmetic Surgery.
Whether it’s sagging breasts, loose skin, or pesky excess fat that not even the gym can address, Dr. Yamini and Dr. Svehlak are experts in restoring a woman’s body to its pre-pregnancy days.
As with any surgical procedure, any patient interested in a Mommy Makeover should be in good physical health.
