Tracy Anderson, fitness trainer to celebrity clients such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson and Shakira, and luxury fashion store Kirna Zabete in SoHo hosted a shopping event to support Safe Horizon, a national crime and abuse prevention non-profit.

The Trevor Project, a campaign to support and empower lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth who are the victims of bullying and harassment, has been spreading the message “It Gets Better,” with celebrity faces like Daniel Radcliffe and Chris Colfer (Glee). Sunday night, the organization threw a fundraiser at ROCCA Kitchen & Bar in Boston’s South End, drawing hundreds in support.

Williamsburg has a new haven for Italian eating at its finest. Osteria il Paiolo is churning out some beautifully cooked plates of Italy-inspired modern cuisine. I joined some friends there, Wednesday night, for a jovial but elevated eight-course meal. The exposed-brick loft space is cozy and welcoming; it feels rustic, which falls right in line with the restaurant’s name. “Il paiolo” means “copper pot,” which is the traditional cooking instrument used to create polenta.

As the weather gets cooler, we found ourselves with a serious hankering for some of that cold-weather delicacy: caviar.

Contrary to popular belief, it’s not only for consumption in crystal bowls on a bed of ice and a glass of champagne. Petrossian Restaurant in the Alwyn Court Building on Manhattan’s West Side serves up a beautiful French-influenced menu, featuring caviar along with smoked fish and foie gras, in favorites like pizza and panna cotta.
